ULLIN – Starting Sept. 15, the Southern 7 Health Department will offer local lab draw services for patients at its clinics. This new service is being done through a partnership with LabCorp Paducah.
Patients who require blood work can have their order sent to a nearby Southern 7 public health clinic for completion. This will help reduce patients travel time to appointments at an affordable cost. For healthcare providers, it reduces time getting lab results, supports rural access to care, and ensures continuity and coordination by keeping services local.
Patients requesting a lab draw from Southern 7 can either bring their doctor’s order or fax it to a Southern 7 public health clinic. No appointment is needed, but is recommended to reduce wait time during their visit.
Each patient is required to pay a $10 collection fee to Southern 7 at time of visit regardless of insurance or Medicaid coverage.
Patients without health coverage will be required to pay the $10 collection fee plus cost of lab at time of service. All lab results will be sent directly to the patient’s provider.
