CAIRO – A piece of Cairo’s history that has welcomed visitors entering the city for many years won’t be around after this weekend.
City officials say the Cairo train overpass on U.S. 51 will be removed starting Sunday at 9 p.m. Work should be finished sometime early Monday morning. The overpass was built in 1917.
Weissinger Construction of Cairo will be in charge of removing the overpass.
