ANNA – Two people were seriously injured after being involved in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Union County.
According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened at 10:30 a.m. on Illinois 146 east of Shawnee Meadows Lane in Anna.
ISP says a Toyota Avalon driven by 31-year-old Ian M. Lawrence of Jonesboro was going east on Illinois 146 when for unknown reasons, his car crossed the center line and struck a Nissan Altima driven by 65-year-old Deborah Heinrichs of Anna head-on.
Heinrichs was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries. Lawrence was also taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Lawrence was cited for improper lane usage.
Illinois 146 was closed for an hour while officers investigated.
