Man Arrested for Possessing Controlled Substances, Resisting Peace Officer at Williamson County Traffic Stop

MARION – A man was found with controlled substances, cannabis and Psilocybin mushrooms in his vehicle after being stopped recently by Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies for weaving while traveling and displaying expired registration in the area of Illinois 13 and Cambria Road.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, this happened around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6.

Deputies cited Trevor A. Mills with Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer, Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Expired Registration. Mills was taken to the Williamson County Jail.

After deputies pulled Mills over, they spoke to him and saw several open and empty bottles of alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. Deputies asked Mills to get out, but while they were speaking to him, Mills took his foot off the brake and the vehicle began rolling forward. After ordering Mills to get out of the vehicle several times, deputies attempted to remove him. While doing so Mills pulled his door shut. After deputies reopened the door, Mills pulled away and resisted their efforts. Deputies assisted Mills out of the vehicle. Once outside Mills continued to resist and obstruct deputies efforts.

A search of the vehicle located the controlled substances Oxycodone and Amphetamine, cannabis, and 5.41 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms.

Mills was then cited and taken to jail.
