DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day Is Saturday

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – The Drug Enforcement Administration’s 25th Prescription Drug Take Back Day happens Saturday.

This event lets you get rid of potentially dangerous prescription medications like tablets, capsules, patches and other solid forms of prescription drugs. Liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, and other sharps and illegal drugs will not be accepted.

DEA will continue to accept vaping devices and cartridges at its drop-off locations provided lithium batteries are removed.

Police departments and sheriff’s offices across our area will be participating in this event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To find one near you, go to dea.gov/takebackday.
