MT. VERNON – The Mt. Vernon City Council will address several agenda items at tonight’s meeting.
City Manager Mary Ellen Bechtel will ask the council to approve the closure of Logan Street between Beverly Heights and 26th from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday for the Annual Hands Up Summit.
Bechtel will also request the closure of Lamar Avenue between 19th Street and 21st Street from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday for a backpack giveaway.
The council will also hold the first reading of an ordinance adopting solar energy facility regulations.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 7 in the City Council Chamber of City Hall, located at 1100 Main Street in Mt. Vernon.
