Williamson County Treasurer to Send Out Real Estate Tax Bills Friday

MARION – Williamson County Real Estate Tax Bills will be mailed out Friday, July 23.

According to Williamson County Treasurer Ashley Gott, this year’s due dates are Aug. 26 and Oct. 14. The treasurer’s office will begin accepting payments on Monday, July 26.

Payments may be made in person or through the drive-up at the Administrative Building, located at 407 N. Monroe in Marion, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Checks, cash, credit/debit
cards, and other certified funds will be accepted. Debit card can’t be accepted at the drive-up. Drive-up transactions are limited to 10 tax bills per vehicle. After hours payments can be dropped off in the drop box located on the west side of the Administrative Building.

You may also make payments at all Williamson County banks except Fifth Third Bank and Wood Forest Bank. Payments can be mailed to Williamson County Collector, 407 N. Monroe, Suite 104, Marion, IL 62959. Postmarks will be honored as the payment date through October 14th

You can pay online with your credit/debit cards and e-checks at williamsoncountyil.gov/county-treasurer-2/. Credit cards have a 2.45% convenience fee (3rd party) per completed transaction. Debit cards have a flat $3.95 convenience fee (3rd party) per completed transaction. E-checks have a flat $1 convenience fee (3rd party) per completed transaction.

Late penalties are 1.5% per month or any part of a month effective on the first day following each due date. Parts or fractions of a month will be considered a whole month.
