ISP RELEASES DISTRACTED DRIVING ENFORCEMENT PATROL RESULTS FOR WILLIAMSON COUNTY

DU QUOIN – Illinois State Police District 13 in Du Quoin has released the results of Distracted Driving Enforcement Program patrols held in Williamson County during September.

This program provided extra patrol coverage for ISP officers to focus on saving lives and reducing serious crashes by enforcing distracted driving laws.

Officers issued 10 hand-held phone/device citations, six texting while driving citations, no other types distracted driving citations, 16 total distracted driving citations, no total distracted driving written warnings, 26 total all citations and 21 total all written warnings.  

The extra enforcement patrols were made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
