HARRISBURG – Seeking to ensure everyone has access to a warm meal this holiday season, the Fowler Bonan Foundation is preparing to host their annual Thanksgiving Day dinner on Nov. 23.
From 3 to 6 p.m., members of the Heaven’s Kitchen charity will be serving a full Thanksgiving Day meal to those who stop by the Harrisburg Heaven’s Kitchen, located at 21 W. Locust Street in Harrisburg, IL.
“We are anticipating a huge turnout this year, and are prepared to serve over 3,000 meals to residents throughout Southern Illinois,” said Dale Fowler, Chairman of the Fowler Bonan Foundation.
Meals will include brown sugar ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, roll and a dessert. All meals will be pre-packaged and ready for curbside pickup on Nov. 23.
The meal service was made possible thanks to donations received from the Heaven’s Kitchen BBQ fundraiser earlier this year.
“We were blessed by the generosity shown earlier this year from donors and sponsors at our BBQ fundraiser to make this Thanksgiving meal possible,” said Dale Fowler. “Our goal is to ensure no one goes without during the holiday season, and we can start by providing a warm, hearty meal to those in need.”
Heaven’s Kitchen has been operating since 2018. The Fowler Bonan Foundation is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to provide clothing and shoes to low-income children through the Clothes for SI Kids initiative and to provide hot meals to those in need through the Heaven’s Kitchen program.
