Jamie Haskins: My little boy Brody (11) shot this last Friday with a crossbow. He has been hunting a few times over the last couple of years but this was his first kill by himself. He was hunting in Franklin Co. He was so excited. When we went to drop it off at the processing plant one of the gentlemen there said "that is a big buck, he is getting spoiled early!" That alone made him smile from ear to ear! I have decided to get it mounted for him as a surprise! Had to get a picture of it in the back of the truck since it got too dark on Friday night to find it. So the picture was taken on Saturday.
Jessica Stucker: "Shot it on our private property. He was chasing a doe and came out 10 yards from me! Watching him fall was a great feeling! My boys got to come out and see it afterwards!"
Jake Boldrey: "I was fortunate enough to kill this buck on October 30th at 5:20 in the evening. I had been after this buck for the last couple of years after missing it in 2021 and Only saw it hunting 1 time in 2022. After getting multiple trail camera pictures of him at night he finally showed up in the daytime to get a perfect 30yd shot with the bow! We estimate this buck was every bit of 6 or 7yrs old!"

I bagged this deer on our family’s property. It had been 10 years since I got a deer. The deer is unique on how it has both main beams broke off at about the same location. I am very thankful to have been able to harvest this animal.

This was my first crossbow deer, as a torn rotator cuff prevents me from pulling back my bow. He was following behind 8 does, grunting at every step he took!

I shot this monster on family property, the day before I allowed a friend to hunt on the property he shot a 8 pointer with his compound we backed out and begin to blood trail it the next day, it got to the point we was finding pin drops then nothing. I begin to search and noticed deer prints everywhere and there was a giant track amongst them! I brought the summit in and found a tree for that evening I wasn't there a hr and looked to my right and 25yrds all I could see was big antlers!!!! So my bow was on my left side hanging I grabbed it and carefully slid it between me and the tree to get a shot. The buck decides to turn and walk 10 yards behind my tree going towards the left of me, the tree I was in I could only get about 16ft high so I'm freaking out trying to figure how to move my bow back to the left side of the tree and get a shot! He finally turned his head away and I made my move I drew back and shot him at 5yrds from me with a swacker he was done for! I could fill my heart beat in my throat my knees wanted to give out and the shaking began! I called the old lady and told her and she said your snap chat map says you ain't there and I don't have no pics! I said I just shot him I haven't moved it just happened lol any way she changed her tone when I pulled up with him in the back of the old chevy and to make it better I was broke that year I traded some arrowheads I had found to a guy for the bow I was using and it all came together when I least expected it! He scored 176 and 1/2 my biggest deer to date

I shot it at my Grandpa's Farm. My dad manages the the deer, plants food plots, and puts out trail cameras so that I can have a successful hunt. This deer isn't as big as my 14 pointer that I shot last year. I am still proud of the deer. It's always a fun time hunting with my dad.

I shot this buck around 6:30 am on Saturday 18th. I had seen this same buck the weekend before while I was bow hunting but it did not come close enough to me for a shot. I watched this buck walk away and had no clue if I’d have the chance to shoot it again. Then he came out Saturday morning and gave me that chance. He walked out with a branch wrapped around his antlers and was trying to shake the branch off. He was preoccupied with the branch it allowed me to not rush a shot on him. I was so happy to get this buck and take home to show my two year old little girl who was fascinated with the deer. I can’t wait until she is older and I can take her hunting to get a deer like mine.
Jody Kabat
7 year old Jordyn Kabat with her first deer in her first year of hunting. Took just one shot to drop it on the spot. Extremely excited little girl with a proud dad.

This guy stepped right out in front of me after days of not seeing any deer. He was chasing his doe and stood up right for me to get a great shot. My wife was with me when we found him and we saw how distinguished he was. Chocolate rack, split brow tine, my very first deer with a drop tine! And he has a pretty double white patch on the chest. This one is for sure going on the wall, the story is too great not to have him.

My 7 pointer came out into the field as I was getting ready to climb down for the day. After days of not seeing anything, except for one angry squirrel who was not happy about me being in his woods, I finally saw this guy. He isn't the biggest around that is for sure, but for someone who hasn't shot many deer, I am happy with him!

I shot my first buck in Williamson County, IL. It was a beautiful cold morning at 6:10 that morning I sat and watched five does run out in the opening over 200 yards away. The big doe started leading the back right towards me. I sat and watch some of the yearlings run around with the older and bigger does. Decided to pass on taken one of the bigger does down due to yearlings with them. Then all of a sudden the just start running right by me. I look out past them and that's when I seen a buck!! 156 yards away I took my shot as he started to run back into the woods.

My youngest son Evan (12) and I have been hunting hard all weekend with no luck until the last day. It was a very busy day and one I won’t ever forget. We had planned on hunting all today but luckily that was cut short. The main deer I’ve been after this season stepped out behind a doe at 11:10 giving me a 40-50 yard shot. We tracked that deer, loaded him up, and headed home. I told Evan we wouldn’t have time to go back out that night. Then we decided to go anyway since this would be his last day he could shoot a buck with his leftover youth tag. Then with 15 minutes left of legal hunting time a nice 12 stepped out and started making a scrape. Evan waited until he got broadside and made a perfect 110 yard shot on him. While we were celebrating and talking to Leigh Ann Murray (wife/mom) on the phone I saw the wide 8 I had also been after. I hung up on Leigh Ann and sure enough the wide 8 stepped out around 30 yards away broadside and gave me a perfect shot! A lot of things happened on 11-19-23. My first mid day buck, Evan’s biggest buck, our first double, and the first time I’ve got two bucks in one day!

I harvested this buck my first hunt with a firearm, my second buck ever harvested. My husband and I have watched this deer for several years and he made a huge jump in size since last year. Beyond blessed to get this deer of a lifetime yesterday!

Was on early Friday morning for gun season. Was walking to a stand I had been waiting to hunt and when I walked in, the neighboring hunters were right beside it. I made the decision to leave that stand and walk to one I didn’t think I would see a deer. Only 30 minutes after sunlight this stud of an 8 point was hot on a doe. They came 60 yards away and the buck dropped right where I shot him. God is good and placed me in the right spot!
Jonathan Halfacre
Chased this buck since opening day. Finally got the chance on him, clean shot at 52 yards.
