BLUFORD HOME SEARCHED FOR ILLEGAL DRUGS MONDAY, SEVERAL SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

MT. VERNON – Members of the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a search warrant early Monday morning for illegal drugs at 319 Poplar Street in Bluford.

According to Mt. Vernon police, multiple suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Justice Center for questioning.

The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the MVPD/JCSO Joint Narcotics Unit, who searched the residence and property, locating evidence and contraband.

The investigation continued into the evening. Further information will be provided at a later date.

This is the third time this year the High Risk Team has raided that address.

The two previous incidents resulted in the arrests of 39-year-old Rose McCormick and 46-year-old Chad Pepple.
