Free Plane Rides for Kids Rescheduled Due to Rainy Weather

MT. VERNON (WMIX) – Foul weather canceled an event last weekend that would have allowed young people to take free airplane rides at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport. But all is not lost thanks to the EAA Chapter 1155 scheduling a makeup date.

Due to rainy weather last weekend, the Young Eagles Rally was cancelled and has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Outland Airport, weather permitting. You can enter through the Bonnie Café Flightline entrance area at the airport.

Parental signed consent is required before kids can take a flight. Forms will be available at the rally.

The EAA says its sole mission is to introduce and inspire young people to the world of aviation.

You can call 618-242-7016 for further information.
