Power outages impact Harrisburg, local schools dismiss early

Harrisburg — Strong winds have impacted many in southern Illinois including residents in Harrisburg where an estimated 1,000 customers are without power.
According to reports received by WEBQ, outages have impacted customers from Harrisburg thru Carrier Mills as well as from Stanford to Ozark. Harrisburg Schools have announced an early dismissal at 10:30 am.
A wind advisory remains in effect until 3pm today. Southwest winds from 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph will be expected.
