CARBONDALE – The Carbondale Police Department is pleased to announce the launch of Citizen Connect, an online public crime mapping site.
Citizen Connect has been an ongoing endeavor for the Carbondale Police Department and is intended as an informational resource for the community. It works by gathering information from the Department’s crime reporting software and mapping the locations. To protect privacy, incident locations are shown approximately, and some reports may take time to appear as data is reviewed and updated.
Police Chief Anthony Copeland states, “The launch of Citizen Connect reflects our continued commitment to transparency and strong community partnerships. By providing residents with easy access to crime information, we hope to create a shared understanding of what’s happening in our neighborhoods. We encourage the community to use this tool, stay informed, and partner with the Carbondale Police Department as we work towards solutions and continue building a safer, stronger Carbondale for everyone.”
