WEST FRANKFORT – One person died in an early Tuesday morning house fire in West Frankfort.
According to West Frankfort Fire, fire crews responded to the blaze in the 400 block of East 7th Street just before 4 a.m. Dispatch reported possible occupants inside the home.
Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and conducted a primary search of the home. One person was found inside and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s office. Their identity is not being released until family members are notified. No injuries were reported. It unknown what caused the fire at this time.
The coroner’s office and the State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
