MT. VERNON – A Dahlgren woman is charged with First-degree Murder in the weekend shooting death of 47-year-old James D. Cross of Dahlgren in Belle Rive.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Jasmine L. Farny is lodged in the county jail.
Authorities learned about the shooting Sunday morning after receiving a call made by the reporting party who discovered Cross’s dead body in a parking lot in the 21800 block of East Bonnie Road in rural Belle Rive. Cross had been shot several times.
Detectives interviewed Farny Sunday evening as well as Monday afternoon. At the conclusion of the second interview, Farny was booked into the county jail to await her pretrial detention hearing on the murder charge.
Farny and Cross knew each other and had a past dating relationship. The investigation continues. No other details were released.
