Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests in Herrin

HERRIN – Two women were lodged in the Williamson County Jail on drug-related charges following an recent traffic stop at the intersection of Polk and 14th streets in Herrin.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, Amber N. Mize, and her passenger, Haley D. Redmon, were cited for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Mize was also cited for Possession of Cannabis by Driver, Driving while License Revoked, No Valid Driver’s License and Disobeying a Stop Sign.

Deputies stopped Mize and Redmon around 2:20 Wednesday morning after seeing Mize disobey a stop sign at the intersection. Her driver’s license had been revoked. She was taken into custody without incident. Redmon was also in the vehicle.

Deputies saw drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and a subsequent lawful search was conducted. Deputies recovered meth, a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and cannabis. Meth was later recovered from Redmon’s person upon arrival at the jail.
