WHITTINGTON – Two people were taken to the hospital after a semi towing a trailer ran off southbound I-57 near Whittington around 7:50 Thursday night.
According to Illinois State Police, traffic was shut down periodically so the semi could be removed until around 11:40 p.m. All lanes were then reopened.
The crash is under investigation. No further details are available.
