WEST FRANKFORT – Peggy Ann Poole, 83, of West Frankfort, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on September 6, 1942, in Marion, Illinois, to Lloyd and Ruth Ann (Roberts) Sullins. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Marion. Peggy loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending Bible studies and watching Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd, John, and Ralph Sullins, and Jimmy Lowell; and sister, Donna Norris.
She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Sr.; sons, Jim Jr. (Letina), Richard, and David (Kathy); brothers, Rev. Harvey (Pam) Sullins and Rev. Richard (Maralynn) Sullins; sister, Debbie Sullins; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home, with James E. Poole Jr. and Debbie Sullins officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
