Another Heat Advisory Issued for Today, More Heat Expected Next Week

PADUCAH – It’s going to be another hot day across the area as highs will be in the lower 90s with heat index values between 105 to 109 expected.

So a Heat Advisory is in effect today for everyone south of I-64 from noon until 7 p.m. according to the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses so take the proper precautions to protect yourself during his heat wave.

Scattered thunderstorms this afternoon may provide some relief.

You should take precautions during this heat wave like drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. And take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Forecasters say a more dangerous prolonged heatwave will begin this weekend and continue through most of next week with daily heat index values of 105 to 115.
