ALGONQUIN, IL – Aubrey Allen Lackman age 101, of Algonquin, Illinois, passed away on February 7, 2025, at the Crystal Pines Health Care Center in Crystal Lake, Illinois. He was born in Metropolis, Illinois, on March 7, 1923, the son of David B. and Harriett Faye (Faughn) Lackman.
He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army 11th Air Corps as a Medical Tech stationed in the Aleutian Islands. Through the years he did a lot of reading and crossword puzzles. He spent the past few summers sitting on the deck “neighborhood watching.”
He is survived by son, David (Peggy) Lackman; grandson, Garrit (Christine); great-granddaughter, Olivia; his granddaughter, Tana; son, Michael; grandson, Ryan (Elisa); great-grandsons, Luke and Evan; granddaughter, Courtney Burns (Brian); great-grandson, Jack; great-granddaughters Lily, Cora; granddaughter, Kerby Mickelson-de Kok (Chris); great-grandsons, Sailas, Phineas, Jonas; granddaughter, Kallie Mickelson-Hole (Brandan); great-grandson, Maverick; great-granddaughter, Cecelia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Earlene (Shasteen) Lackman; and daughter, Debra (the late Kerry) Mickelson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road.
There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery prior to the service.
The Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.
