MT. VERNON – Three members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were honored with awards, approved by the sheriff’s office awards committee, at Tuesday night’s County Board meeting.
Sheriff Jeff Bullard says Chris Bremer received the 2025 Correctional Officer of the Year Award. Brett Harris received the 2025 Deputy of the Year Award. Captain Adam Smith received a Medal of Merit Award for his leadership supervising his squad that led the agency in illegal drug and weapon arrests. Grace Cole will be presented with the 2025 Telecommunicator of the Year award at a later date.
The awards committee reviews nominations from their peers to determine which employees best exemplify the qualities needed to win the award.
