PADUCAH – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the U.S. 45 Ohio River “Brookport” Bridge on Tuesday, Feb. 10, to conduct the annual walk-through inspection.
The bridge will be closed to traffic between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. While the inspection is typically performed in the spring, it is being scheduled earlier this year ahead of IDOT’s planned restart of the I-24 Ohio River Bridge rehabilitation project next month.
While the bridge is closed, highway crews will also address minor maintenance needs on the structure and its approaches.
Motorists may self-detour using the I-24 bridge between Paducah and Metropolis.
KYTC will provide notice if the inspection is completed ahead of schedule.
