SOUTHERN ILLINOIS – Here is a list of weather-related closings and cancellations we have received so far for Monday, Jan. 26. Please check back often for updates.
Due to the snowfall amounts, there will be no school for Frankfort CUSD #168 on Monday, January 26, 2026. In addition to Denning Elementary, Frankfort Intermediate, Central Junior High, and Frankfort Community High School being closed, there will be NO additional activities, contests, or practices in our building on Monday. Please note that the Regular Board of Education Meeting originally scheduled for Monday evening has already been postponed to Thursday evening.
Sesser-Valier Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to inclement weather.
Trico CUSD 176 in Campbell Hill will be closed tomorrow, Monday 1/26/26.
The Mt. Vernon Alternative Learning Center will be using an E-Learning day tomorrow.
Regional Office of Education #21 has scheduled an eLearning Day for Monday, January 26th for ECHO Alternative School, STARQuest Academy North and STARQuest Academy South.
There will be no in-person learning tomorrow, Monday, January 26, at Benton Consolidated High School. BCHS will conduct an E-Learning Day.
Woodlawn schools will have an eLearning Day on Monday 1/26.
Mt. Vernon Township High School will have an E-Learning day on Monday, January 26.
ROE 13 Brain Games Third/Fourth grade competition postponed.
Mt. Vernon City Schools, Dist. #80 will have an E-Learning Day Monday, January 26, 2026.
E-Learning Day for Bluford Schools tomorrow. Events are postponed.
Farrington Grade School will be closed on Monday January 26th.
Due to hazardous weather conditions, the Benton CCSD 47 School Board meeting originally scheduled for January 26, 2026. A rescheduled date has not yet been determined. Information regarding a new meeting date/time will be posted as soon as it becomes available.
Due to the inclement weather, Kaskaskia College will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. This closure includes the main campus and all education centers, and all classes are canceled. The January meeting of the Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees will be rescheduled to February 3, 2026 at the regular time. Please continue to monitor official Kaskaskia College communication channels for updates.
Due to the winter storm, Southern Illinois University Carbondale will be closed on Monday, 1/26/26, starting at 6 a.m. At this time, SIU will reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, 1/27/26. The Emergency Operations Center monitors weather conditions. This is an administrative closure. All classes (face to face, hybrid and online) will be canceled and will not be delivered remotely. Residence halls, residential dining, and the Rec Center will be open, as will the Department of Public Safety. All other campus buildings and offices will be closed. The University will continue to monitor the weather forecast and road conditions and provide updates on campus operations, as necessary.

Residential dining centers will be open 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. The Rec Center will be open from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday and noon to 8 p.m. on Monday. Jackson County Mass Transit 618-549-0304 will determine operational hours for buses.
Johnston City Community School District #1 will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026 and will be using an e-learning day.
Marion Community Unit School District #2 has announced that Monday, January 26, 2026, will be designated as an E-Learning Day for all district students. Students at Marion High School, Adams Junior High School, and Marion Junior High School should check their district email, Infinite Campus, and Google Classroom for instructions and assignments. For elementary students, teachers will communicate directly with families through parent email, Remind, ClassDojo, and/or Google Classroom. Due to the district’s scheduled 2:20 p.m. dismissal time, teachers will remain available to students and families until that time to provide support and assistance. A virtual MEA meeting for teachers will take place at 2:20 p.m. following the instructional day. The district recognizes that power outages may affect families across the area. Students who experience difficulty completing assignments due to loss of power will be granted make-up opportunities for remote work. Marion CUSD #2 appreciates the cooperation and flexibility of students, families, and staff as the district continues to support learning during E-Learning days.
The Franklin County Courthouse and all other Franklin County Government Business Offices will be closed tomorrow, January 26th. The closure will allow crews to clear the parking lots, sidewalks, and building entrances to ensure the safety of our employees and citizens.
Please note the date of the upcoming City of Marion city council meeting has been changed to Tuesday, January 27, 2026 due to the closure of city facilities on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Rome Grade School will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26, 2026. We will be utilizing an e-learning day.
Comprehensive Connections closed and Sunshine Center closed Monday – no home delivered or congregate meal.
The White County Courthouse in Carmi will be closed Monday.
Trinity Lutheran School will be having E-Learning Day Monda, January 26th.
