Traffic Stop in Herrin Leads to Meth Arrest

HERRIN – A woman was arrested for possessing meth and hypodermic syringes following a recent traffic stop near the intersection of Oak and 22nd streets in Herrin.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Lucille A. Odam was cited for Possession of Methamphetmine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was booked into the Williamson County Jail on Dec. 26 of last year.

Odam was previously indicted last March by a Williamson County Grand Jury for a separate incident which resulted in a Possession of Methamphetamine charge. She’ll be in court on that matter early next month.

The driver, Kelsi N. Wingo, was cited for Failure to Signal while another passenger, Leslie A. Williams, was cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol. They were both released at the scene.

After being stopped, deputies saw open alcohol containers in the vehicle. Odam, Wingo and Williams were asked to get out. A lawful search of the vehicle was conducted.

During a subsequent lawful search of the occupants by a female deputy, Odam was found with meth and syringes. She was then taken into custody and booked into jail.
