HERRIN – The Herrin Police Department Tuesday held its second Operation Santa detail.
According to a Herrin Police social media post, this detail gives officers the opportunity to spread some holiday cheer throughout the community.
Officers wore Santa hats and conducted traffic stops but with a festive twist. Instead of receiving citations, drivers were surprised with gift cards as a way to give back during the Christmas season.
Several Herrin businesses helped make this detail a success.
