HARRISBURG – The Saline County Sheriff’s Office and George F. Henley Detention Center in Harrisburg recently had its annual jail inspection completed by the Illinois Department of Corrections.
According to a sheriff’s office social media post, the jail inspection scrutinizes almost 500 points of review and includes a laundry list of items like staff makeup, facility structure, admission procedures, security and safety just to name a few.
Ratings from the inspection returned well. The jail’s only non-compliance was an 89 percent on supervision not including a monitoring device.
The drop has prompted the sheriff’s office to identify problem areas and new procedures have been put in place to return that deficiency to a higher standard.
