MARION – A man was booked into the Williamson County Jail after allegedly stealing a car from the 500 block of Hickory Street in Bush early Monday morning.
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after learning that a Honda Civic had been stolen around 4:50 a.m. Deputies found the car a few hours later in the 2500 block of Skyhawk Road in Carbondale and took William D. Basenberg Jr. into custody.
Authorities said Basenberg was on pretrial release in an unrelated case and was wearing a court-ordered GPS ankle monitor. A review of GPS location data placed him at the location of the vehicle at the time it was stolen.
Basenberg was cited for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Theft – both felonies.
