Downtown Mount Vernon Announces 2025 Window Display Contest Winners

MT. VERNON – The Downtown Mount Vernon Development Corporation (DMDC) proudly announced the winners of the 2025 Downtown Window Display Contest, an annual tradition that fills the district with holiday magic, local pride, and some seriously impressive creativity. The awards were presented Sunday night at The Commons, where community members gathered to celebrate the merchants who transformed their windows into festive showstoppers.

This year’s contest featured an exceptional lineup of displays. The 2025 award winners are:

Overall Best Window Display: Studio B – Brian Mooney
Best Painted Window: Byrd-Watson Medical Downtown
Best Multi-Window Display: Mod Threads Boutique
Honorable Mention – Multi Window: Kingdom Seasonings
Best Large Window Display: Easton’s Flowers & Gifts
Best Light Display: Mt. Vernon Fire Department
Best Small Window Display: Rosie Jo’s Boutique
Honorable Mention: King City Games
People’s Choice Award: Community First Bank of the Heartland

“These merchants didn’t just decorate their windows — they decorated the entire downtown experience,” said Nat Shook, President of DMDC. “What they created this year didn’t just look festive… it felt festive. At times it genuinely felt like we were all living inside a Hallmark movie, and I couldn’t be prouder of our business community for making that happen.”

Residents were invited to explore the displays throughout downtown—bounded on the north by North Street and by the railroad tracks on the east, west, and south—and cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award, which saw tremendous participation from the community.

DMDC extends its gratitude to every business that participated, every shopper who supported downtown, and every resident who voted. The collective dedication and spirit helped create a warm and welcoming holiday season in the heart of Mt. Vernon.
