Man Found with Meth at Marion Traffic Stop Arrested

MARION – A man was cited for Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia following a traffic stop near the intersection of Carbon Street and Illinois 13 in Marion early Friday morning.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies approached the driver, Angelica L. Bruce, and informed her she was being stopped and cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.

A sheriff’s office K-9 unit arrived and made a positive alert to the odor or illegal narcotics coming from the vehicle. A search was done and a backpack belonging to Bruce‘s passenger, Travis J. Webb, was found. A clear plastic bag containing residue of a crystal like substance which was suspected to be meth was found inside.

Four glass smoking devices and a clear plastic bag containing meth were also found on Webb during a lawful search. Bruce and a female passenger in the vehicle were also searched, but nothing was found.

Bruce and the female passenger were released. Webb was taken to the Williamson County Jail.
