CARBONDALE – A Carbondale man, 30-year-old Jory L. Brown, was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Aggravated Arson after Carbondale Police responded to a possible arson in progress in the 300 block of West Cherry Street late Tuesday night.
Police arrived and found a piece of furniture, located next to the exterior side of the house, on fire, with the flames spreading to the home The family inside, which included several small children, was immediately evacuated while the responding officer began extinguishing the fire. Carbondale firefighters arrived and finished putting out the fire. No injuries were reported.
During the investigation, Brown was arrested for his offense and taken to jail.
