Charles Gregor Reyling

DAHLGREN – Charles Gregor Reyling, 81, of Dahlgren, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at his residence.

Charles was born February 21, 1944, in Piopolis, Illinois, the son of Roman G. and Mary (Bond) Reyling. On September 7, 1964, he married Betty Lueke, who survives.

Charles was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Randall Scott Reyling and wife DeDe, and Nathan Gregor Reyling and wife Sarah; one daughter, Tina Lynn Rost and husband Tony; six grandchildren, Holly Schuster and husband Reegan, Kourtney Belangee, Abby Jolley and husband Bryce, Jacob Reyling and wife Sydney, Megan Link and husband Levi, and Eric Reyling; and great-grandchildren Jolee, Eva, Elsie, Riley, Lucy, Kamryn, Mallory, and Maven.

Also surviving are sisters Alma Dougherty, Kathleen Hayes, Jane Reyling, and Judy Rapp; brothers Andrew Reyling and wife Diana, and Mark Reyling; and a brother-in-law Leon Pryor, along with several nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Richard, Edwin, and Thomas; and sister, Mary.

Memorials may be made to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at the church or at Harre Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to follow. Burial will take place in the church cemetery, with Fathers Mark Reyling and Slawomir Ptak presiding.
