WEST FRANKFORT – By a vote of 5 to 2, the West Frankfort School Board approved the collective bargaining agreement its teachers, who are members of the American Federation of Teachers Local 817, at Thursday night’s special board meeting.
The agreement is good for three years and includes a 0.5 step in salary in year one, a 1.0 step in year two and a 1.5 step in year three. It also includes some language changes on insurance and other procedural issues.
The school board will now move forward with negotiations on its collective bargaining agreement with its para-professional teachers’ aides represented by AFT Local 6124, whose contract has expired.
