CARBONDALE – A Carbondale man was arrested after he allegedly abused his dog Thursday night in the 400 block of North Oakland Street in Carbondale.
According to Carbondale Police, 38-year-old Remus R. Williams struck his dog several times with a stick. Police found the dog injured and removed it from the home. The dog was taken by police to a local veterinarian where they learned its injuries were not consistent with Williams’ explanations, but instead, consistent with those of abuse.
Police returned to Williams’ home and arrested him for Cruel Treatment of Animals and Animal Torture. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
