CARBONDALE – A tense situation unfolded Monday morning after Carbondale Police responded to a report of a dispute involving a firearm in the 200 block of North Wall Street.
Police say during the dispute, the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim. Before officers arrived on the scene, the suspect reportedly fled the area and entered a vacant building located in the 500 block of East Jackson Street.
Police established a perimeter around the building and negotiations began. The suspect eventually exited the building voluntarily and was taken into custody without further incident. No firearm was recovered. No injuries were reported.
Police say no one was arrested. The suspect’s name was not released. Police continue to investigate.
