Juvenile Arrested after Gunfire Causes Damage in Carbondale Home

CARBONDALE – Carbondale Police arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile in connection with a shots fired incident late Tuesday night at his home in the 200 block of South Emerald Lane in Carbondale.

Police say the juvenile fired a gun several times, striking items inside his home causing property damage. The juvenile fled on foot, but was returned as police arrived at the scene. No injuries were reported.

The juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm without a Firearms Owner’s Identification Card and taken to the Jackson County Jail to await transportation to a juvenile detention facility.
