MT. VERNON – Deaconess Illinois Crossroads has been recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of 17 Illinois hospitals, and one of 529 nationwide, for excellence in nursing communication based on HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) scores. This recognition underscores the hospital’s dedication to ensuring patients feel heard, respected, and cared for at every step of their healthcare journey.

The recognition comes at a pivotal time as Deaconess Illinois continues to expand services and strengthen its nursing teams across the region. “We are incredibly proud of our nurses and staff for earning this honor,” said Desireé R. To build on this momentum, Deaconess Illinois is inviting nurses and nursing students to attend the Regional Hiring Event on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Deaconess Illinois Medical Center in Marion, IL. Two convenient sessions will be available: 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet nursing leaders, learn about open positions, and explore the benefits of joining a healthcare system recognized for communication excellence.
