MT. VERNON – The City of Mt. Vernon has issued a system-wide boil water order for customers served by the City of Mt. Vernon Water.
This affects homes, hospitals, nursing homes, factories, schools, and so on.
The boil order will be in effect for 48 hours.
Earlier Tuesday, the city’s Public Works Department issued a precautionary boil water advisory due to low water pressure and told residents to boil all water for at least five minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation to protect public health.
The city appreciates the community’s cooperation and understanding as it works to ensure safe water service for all customers.
