CARBONDALE – A Murphysboro man was arrested on drug and gun charges after being stopped for a moving traffic violations in the 500 block of North Carico Street in Carbondale Thursday night.
Carbondale Police say 23-year-old Kerwin J.C. Watson Jr. was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was arrested shortly before 11 p.m.
During the investigation, Watson was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and an illegal amount of suspected cannabis.
Watson was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Cannabis, and Driving While License Suspended. Watson was booked in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
