HERRIN – A man was taken into custody following a Thursday evening house fire in Herrin.
Herrin Police say Brian J. Siebert is charged with Arson, Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools and Criminal Damage to Property involving the fire in the 1000 block of North 11th Street.
Police found Siebert in the backyard of the home after they arrived. Their investigation determined that Siebert was responsible for starting the fire.
Herrin Police and Herrin Fire was assisted by the Illinois State Fire Marshal, the Williamson County Fire Protection District, and the Marion and Carterville fire departments.
