MT. VERNON – Jefferson County has a new deputy sheriff.
According to a sheriff’s office Facebook post, County Clerk Joseph Davis performed the oath of office ceremony for newly appointed Deputy Sheriff Richie Campbell at the courthouse in Mt. Vernon Tuesday.
Deputy Campbell is a lateral transfer from the Wamac Police Department. He will go through a modified Field Training Program and after successful completion, will be placed in the patrol division.
