CARBONDALE – The City of Carbondale swore in Anthony Copeland as its new Police Chief Tuesday.

Retired Chief and now City Manager Stan Reno welcomed him to the police department.
Copeland comes to Carbondale from the Paducah Police Department, where he served as Assistant Police Chief since 2018. He has more than two decades of law enforcement experience and a strong commitment to community-centered policing and leadership development.
The police department held a retirement ceremony for Reno Friday. Reno was with the department for 28 years.
