CARTERVILLE – Illinois Transportation Secretary Gia Biagi will be joined by state and local officials Thursday morning at 10 for the groundbreaking on the $41 million project to improve and modernize Illinois 13 at Crab Orchard Lake. It will be held at the Crab Orchard Boat Ramp parking area on Greenbriar Road in Carterville.
The expansion is part of Governor JB Pritzker’s Rebuild Illinois capital program.
The project aims to improve safety, reduce congestion and enhance regional mobility.
