CARMI – Carmi Police are warning residents about a scammer pretending to be law enforcement and telling victims that a family member was involved in serious accident and will be going to jail if the victim does not pay.
As a reminder, law enforcement will not contact you and ask for any type of payments. Never give your personal information, banking information or credit card information to anyone on the phone or on the internet. Don’t become a victim to the scammer’s efforts.
