HERRIN – A woman was cited for illegal drug offenses following a traffic stop Wednesday in Herrin.

According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Kassie M. “Tennant” Pope after a sheriff’s K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in her vehicle.
A probable cause search revealed more than 38 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.
Pope is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation related to the distribution and delivery of methamphetamine by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.
Pope, who commonly uses the alias last name “Tennant,” had a revoked driver’s license. She was taken into custody and cited for Methamphetamine Delivery, Methamphetamine Possession, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Revoked
Pope was taken to and lodged in the Williamson County Jail.
This case also uncovered evidence linking Pope to the distribution of methamphetamine in Southern Illinois and beyond.
