MT. VERNON – One person was killed after their car drove off eastbound I-64 into the parking lot at the Goshen Road Rest Area in Jefferson County and struck a parked semi around 9:10 Friday night.
According to Illinois State Police, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name was not released. The rest area entrance ramp was closed and reopened sometime later.
