MARION – Marion Police held a retirement ceremony for K-9 Zara on Tuesday.

Zara and her handler, Sgt. Daniel Ogden, worked countless hours to keep the community safe. Zara was with the police department for nine years, and Sgt. Ogden was her handler for six of those years.
They were both honored with a beautiful shadow box from BAT Photography as a tribute to their years of dedication.
Ogden will soon travel to Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, IN, to select Zara’s replacement. Zara came from that kennel in 2016.
Last month, the McCabe Family Foundation presented a check to the police department to pay for the new dog and send Ogden to training.
