Williamson County Sheriff Reports Increase in Calls for Service

MARION – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says it has seen a significant increase in the number of total calls for service over the past three years.

In 2022 there were 24,455 calls for service. In 2023, 30,893 calls for service came into the sheriff’s office. Last year, 34,093 calls for service were received.

While these calls can include citizen-initiated reports, the sheriff’s office says they also count every time deputies proactively engage in crime-fighting, making felony arrests, dismantling drug operations, apprehending dangerous fugitives, conducting neighborhood and community patrols, performing business checks, and more.

That means these numbers aren’t just calls coming, they reflect the proactive approach to law enforcement done by the sheriff’s office. Every increase represents more criminals being held accountable, more neighborhoods being patrolled, and more action being taken to keep the community safe.

Sheriff Jeff Diederich says they are not waiting for crime to happen; they’re out there stopping it and working every day to protect what matters.
