CARBONDALE – One person was injured after another vehicle hit them and their vehicle in the 600 block of South Giant City Road just after 11 Sunday night.
According to Carbondale Police, the person stopped their vehicle and got out to check on a deer that appeared to have been struck by a different vehicle when the incident happened. An ambulance took the victim to the emergency room for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver who hit the victim and their vehicle was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Driving with Suspended Vehicle Registration and Operation of a Vehicle Without Insurance. They were released with the citations pending a court appearance.
