MT. VERNON – A fatal single vehicle crash happened around 9:40 Saturday night on southbound I-57 near milepost 89 in Mt. Vernon.
According to Illinois State Police, troopers found the vehicle overturned and the driver dead from their injuries. No names were released.
Both southbound lanes were closed for a crash investigation. The lanes reopened around 11:30 p.m.
ISP says there is no further information.
